Question Welcome email going to spam
I was wondering if anyone else had this issue, and what they did to remedy it. The welcome email goes to spam with gmail and a few other normal email accounts, yahoo, hotmail, etc.

What can I do to change that? Could I just add a SMTP server, and use that instead? Or would that not be sufficient?

Hello,

Welcome email going to spam can be caused by a large number of factors for the major email providers. SMTP to a trusted email provider is one good solution. Proper PTR records and changing the default replyto and from headers also help.

Also, it sometimes would not hurt to ask the provider as they should be able to help clarify what factors would cause mail to go to spam.

Thanks

I tried the SMTP settings that I use for that email account I have as the replyto and it never sent me an email. I removed the settings, and it wont send emails now when I create a VPS, even though I have the option checked.

Let me edit :

When I send an email to @hotmail.com they don't get sent, but they did get sent to my gmails junkmail after removing SMTP.

After I said it wasn't spam mail it will go, did you do anything special outside of the normal setup? Like add SPF or something?

My Panenthe server is setup at home, so I guess I can't really do that.
